Special edition: Bimbo Global Race through a decade
(september)
Ten years is not something that happens every day. And when it comes to the Bimbo Global Race, we are talking about a decade in which sport, solidarity, and purpose have walked and run together to transform realities in every corner of the world.
Since its first edition in 2016, the race was born with a clear mission: to promote healthy lifestyles and, at the same time, share with those who need it most. Ten years later, that dream has multiplied into a global movement that not only brings together millions of runners, families, and communities, but also has a charitable cause at its heart: for each participant, Grupo Bimbo donates slices of bread to food banks around the world. Thus, the Bimbo Global Race is much more than a sporting competition; it is a race that runs for others, transforming each step into food and hope for those who need it most.
A decade in inspiring figures
- Over the course of its 10 years, the Bimbo Global Race has brought together more than 1 million participants worldwide.
- More than 29 million slices of bread were donated to food banks.
- The Bimbo Global Race has been held in more than 35 countries throughout its history, united under the same cause.
- Bimbo Global Race has been held in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. A global community that runs together for the same cause: sharing with those who need it most.
Editions that made history
Each edition left its mark. In 2016, it was filled with energy with more than 87,000 runners. In 2017, there were more than 100,000 people. In 2018, it was celebrated with more than 112,000 participants, and in 2019, it exceeded 120,000. Then came the unexpected challenge of 2020, when the pandemic forced a reinvention of the format: more than 300,000 runners participated virtually from 127 countries, achieving a historic record of 6 million slices donated.
The momentum of the movement did not stop there. In 2021, 294,761 runners gathered; in 2022, the number exceeded 341,835; in 2023, it was no exception with more than 337,151; while in 2024, 440,631 runners gathered and 3.5 million slices were delivered. Each year, each edition, and each step reflect how sport can transcend borders and become sustenance, hope, and unity.
2025: the big anniversary
On September 28, 2025, the race celebrated its 10th edition with more strength than ever. Under the slogan “We Share the Good,” more than 165 thousand runners participated in person in more than 28 cities in 22 countries. And most importantly, each registration and each kilometer run translated into 3 million slices to feed those who need it most.
Every step, every stride, every goal crossed is a tangible example of what we can achieve when Bimbo Global Runners run in the same direction.
A legacy that has only just begun
The Bimbo Global Race is not just a race: it is a ten-year legacy that demonstrates that unity, empathy, and commitment can bring about real change. Behind every number there are faces, stories, and families that have received support in the form of food. And behind every runner, there is a desire to make sport a platform for positive impact.
Today, as we look back, we celebrate the achievements of this first decade. But above all, we look forward with the certainty that this movement will continue to grow, adding steps and multiplying slices. Because in each edition, the race reminds us that the most valuable thing about running is not coming in first, but sharing the good we have with others.
Happy tenth anniversary, Bimbo Global Race!
A decade of running, sharing, and building a more caring future.
